Vegas posts, home and sick

Well, we got home last night after a very long day of traveling. Our flight was delayed in both Vegas, and then for two hours in New Jersey (after a 4 hour layover) so it was a long 14 hour day of travel.

I stopped writing my updates on my Vegas trip after day 3 and surprisingly got a little good natured grief from some friends back home. I am surprised that I had half a dozen people reading my posts! I guess I just wanted to experience everything and not worry so much about writing it. We had a week and Vegas and except for Thursday when we didn’t do much of anything each day was packed morning til night.

I did write everyday tho notes on my treo and I will in fact be writing daily accounts just for recollection purposes and will probably write them individually and back date them and post them up. I will also post a Vegas trip review post to sum up.

Today, I have been sick all day, and have been in bed all day when not running to the bathroom. I have only eaten a few pieces of toast and have been suffering from crazy stomach pains all day as if I were being stabbed. Been a great time!

Back to work tommorrow. Another thing that happened when I was away, which I found out a few details on Friday, that my job has been moved to Brazil. Weeeeeeeeeeeee. I don’t know what this means for me, and I don’t know what is to come. Will know more tommorrow.

Vegas posts, home and sick

Well, we got home last night after a very long day of traveling. Our flight was delayed in both Vegas, and then for two hours in New Jersey (after a 4 hour layover) so it was a long 14 hour day of travel.

Day 3 in review

Jeeez, 8 days is a long time here, but time sure is flying, here it is my 3rd morning waking up here already? goes fast….and no I have not played anything yet (for the boys)

From the treo that I live blogged yest throughout day:

7:30am Good nights sleep up at 7, on the road 8:45 for breakfast and shopping

-checked out the paris poker room and hope to play today, tourneys start every two hours from 3:30 am

10:42 am
-Nat found a Victoria Secrets and is all excited. I tried, I went in, but now I am sitting on a bench typing this.

11:35am….still sitting

-Found some Miller Genuine Draft, got a couple killer cans, coming back for a case

-have bought 4 ball hats while here but still haven’t found a poker themed one, besides that WSOP one i saw first day that i need to go back and get

-its funny you see every shape and size of people here from bodybuilder to 400 pound people confined to wheel chairs and every where in between, but its situations like this that really make me want to get back in shape

1:00 having a few beer, headed for pool

2 back to room for MSN with girls

4 pm, few more beer headed down to NY NY, Luxor, MGM, Excalibur

6pm -playing in some arcades, was alot of fun, hit batting cage, boxing game and basketball

8 oclock
-saw the Bellagio fountains, goosebump time. Great great stuff

over to Bellagio poker room, didn’t see any pros i recognized, but saw plenty of people with 5 to 10 grand in front of them, like a dozen or more and thats just what i could see from the rail

10 oclock was finally going to go play but was exhausted. We have been going 12-14 hours a day walking and siteseeing and by end of day just pooped. May be the worst Vegas guests ever…lol

I want to play something today! (Tuesday)

Day 2 part 2 in review

Well after my last blog post, had a few beer and then headed back down to the Wax museum. Along the way we stopped at Margaritaville and had a drink. Every once in a while we would stop to look at this or that, and I would stop somewhere to grab a beer, haha. Nearly walked into a pit and was stopped by two guys that were the size of Linebackers. Ooooops.

1 dollar michalob at the Casino Royale hit the spot. As I have walked thru about 10-12 casino’s so far but not played any yet I had no idea how much drinks were in casino’s. So grabbed a couple Michalobs and headed down towards the Wax Museum. The wax museum was the highlite of a trip full of highlites so far. We went into the horror movie section and they have Freddy Kreuger, Leatherface, and Jason Vorhees jumping out at you. Was hilarious. You walk in single file with your hands on the shoulders of the person in front of you. There were two girls behind me scared to death. It was soooooo funny. So after the wax museum we headed down to the Wynn and walked thru there. Mindblowing in there. As I aluded to in previous entries this place has to be experienced. I mean we have 6 full days left here and I know there will be tonnes I miss out on. I still haven’t played any poker or black jack and although of course I want to play, I don’t feel I am missing out, or need to play.

Still lots of hotels/casino’s we haven’t made it into yet. We plan on doing that today (Monday) just checking out more casino’s and hotels and I am going to try and play some blackjack today. We are also not going to start so early, as yesterday we started at 7 and walked all day right til nearly 9 last night and both of us were exhausted with sore feet. So we are going to start a little later today so that we are not ready for bed at 10.

All for now, time to go shower and go get something to eat! Will be back tonight with more.

Day 2 part 2 in review

Day 2 so far

We were up early today, as we did not go out last night and just slept. Well I was up from 11 til 2:45 vegas time but we were up at 6 am and on the strip by 7:15 or so walking around and looking. Was funny to see drunk people stumbling around at 7 in morning, or drinking hard stuff at 8 in the morning.

Casino’s weren’t as busy as i expected early in the day, but it is Easter Sunday, if that means anything here, lol. We scored a two for one at Harrah’s buffet at Flavor’s, and jesus, you have never seen so much food. I probably am 8 pounds heaven. No exageration, I had minimum 20 strips of bacon.

Random thoughts:

-Ceasars Palace is monstrous even for Vegas

-got a bunch of tshirts dirt cheap, and some great prices on a couple ball caps.

-got roped into a time share presentation but got some great gifts out of it for an hour and a half presentation, including a Gondola ride, a dinner and tickets to the was museum.

-its hot as hell here, and the boys at home say we got a foot of snow! (well i am hearing different amounts)

Anyway its 2:35 pm here, I am about to walk down to the flamingo, as I hear that is the closest place i can get a case of beer here. I will be back later with more. Once again i have posted new pics you can see at my Picasa galaries in the side bar links

Live from Vegas

Well just a short post. I am in Las Vegas, my first trip ever out here (anywhere really). Las Vegas, is in a word, mindblowing. I am here with my wife for our tenth anniversary. This is not a gambling/poker trip, but I hope to get some in at some point just the same.

I was just feet from Bobby’s room at the Bellagio. Crazy stuff.
