Weekend is over
Posted by swljuggernaut on September 21, 2008
Well quarter to 12 Sunday night, just watching the last Yankees game in Yankee stadium, while keeping an eye on the football game because I have some fantasy players playing in it.
Was a pretty good weekend, laid back and didn’t do a whole lot. Friday night stayed in with the girls, and did some reading of a James Patterson book, Honeymoon. I am 2/3 of the way thru the book after having read The Midnight Club, another Patterson book earlier in the week. Yesterday I played some ring toss with my buddy Josh, and then we had a couple friends over in the evening. Today was football all day, and also picked the first of probably 3 hockey pools.
I have two weeks left of 11-7:30 at work and then I got two months of 9-5:30. Dec and Jan its the hell shift 1:30 to 10. YUCK. TIme to get my lazy butt back in the gym this week, and carry that on into the next few months of fall winter.
Well going to go enjoy the end of the last yankee game at the old stadium.

Wednesday Doldrums
Posted by swljuggernaut on July 16, 2008
Things are slowly quieting down at work so I got a sec to get a few words down.
Crazy allstar game last night, had some good pitching, some good defense, and some redsox boo’d from the Yankee faithful, all around not too bad.
It’s another absolutely beautiful day in my neck of the woods, the weather continues to be just absolutely awesome. I am going to see if the wife and kids want to go to the beach or something tonight, to nice to sit at home.
Some of my friends are golfing today, and I am quite jelous to be honest, haha. I haven’t hit one golf ball this year, and have played less than 10 rounds in 4 years. My back seems to be on the mend and I really hope to get back into it soon. I am still a few years away from being able to golf regularly again, but my kids will soon enough be at the age where they don’t have to have a babysitter. One day I hope to have a membership again.
Well just as i typed the first line of this post it got extra busy again, so this was a disjointed all over the place post. I will be back later.

Catching up
Posted by swljuggernaut on January 30, 2008
Well, a long time has past since I last wrote in my sports blog, save for a few youtube video’s etc. As always am busy, and my inclination to write comes and goes. So what has happenned of late in the sports world that has caught my attention?
Tiger won the buick going away
Clemens is making himself look more guilty in the court of public opinion the more he appears in public
They actually played a great game at the NHL Allstar game this past weekend
Sidney Crosby was hurt
Those fucking Patriots ran it to 18-0 with only a Manning standing in their way of the greatest season ever
Roy Jones beat Felix Trinidad handily
and The Yankees dodged a bullet by NOT getting Santana. I simply think Hughes Kennedy and Cabrera is too big a price to pay.
I’ll try and post more in the future.

Sunday morning
Posted by swljuggernaut on October 28, 2007
Sunday morning, not a whole lot going on. Getting ready for a day of football, as I spend just about every Sunday in the fall/winter. Got my pool lineups/picks ready to go and I am just watching sportsdesk.
Went to see my buddy in a local theatre production last night, and it was a great play with the whole cast doing a great job. My wife wouldn’t get me to these things if one of my best friends wasn’t starring in them, but at the same time, I must admit they are very entertaining, and of course I get some points by going with the boss.
My back is aching the last 16 hours or so, I am out of some of the meds I was taking, and have not taken the ones that make me loopy, but I think I am going to need one today. I have a tough week of 3 physio and a doctors apointment coming up and then hopefully back to work next week. I am going loopy with all this time off.

Shopping Johnson ?
Posted by swljuggernaut on December 27, 2006
Well over the last couple days, its come out that the Yankees are shopping Randy Johnson and it looks like Arizona is listening. I for one, as a Yankee fan am happy about this. I was talking to a couple buddies earlier in the pre season saying I would love for the yankees to get younger and rebuild. I know in this current climate, and with Stein’ still at the helm this is very unlikely to happen. I for one would take a couple years of missing the playoffs if it meant getting younger, dropping some payroll and getting stronger again.
I am probably one of the few Yankee fans that also wish we would trade Giambi while he is somewhat marketable, and not sign Bernie. While I would prefer Bernie remain a lifetime Yankee, along with Posada and Jeter, if he still wants to play, he has to be reaching the end of his odometer. He played very well in place of Matsui and Shef in an expanded role last year, but in my eyes, that may be the end of it for him. I would not be upset per say if he comes back, again as I said I want him to be a lifetime yank, but I would not be upset if this were the end for Bernie.
Only 6 or 7 weeks til pitchers and catchers report. Personally, I can’t wait.
