Bow to the power of the flush draw

I could bring up 90 hands from the last two weeks where I lost to the rivered flush. It is by far the most annoying thing I have faced over the last two weeks, of admittedly mostly limit cash games. The following hand occured in a 45 man sng on FT this afternoon. I fade the heart I am chip leader of tourney with 16 left.

After a good nights sleep…

am still disappointed in my play to end my MATH night last night. I had no reason to play that pot, against the only player at the table that could bust me. I had a weak read on the player, he had been playing lots of pots, and I talked myself into him not having a ten. Turns out he flopped the nut boat, and me carrying on my charade til I hit my boat, cost me the tourney. I played the hand bad on every street, and thats what is most disappointing.

I got another book yesterday, Matthew Hilger’s Odds and Probabilities. I have gotten 6 books from stars over the last month, and I look forward to reading this one. I have cut way back on my play over the last week, and I think that will continue for a little bit, and I will instead use most of my poker time to reading rather than playing over the next little bit. I will continue to play the blogger tourney’s and some sng’s but for now I am taking a little cash game break.
