P90x Day 2, Plyometrics……is a tough workout

Posted by swljuggernaut on June 1, 2010

So today was day 2 of my P90x journey, and up on the slate is plyometrics.  A great detailed post of the day 2 workout is found here at a great fitness blog called Fitbomb.com.  He breaks it down a lot better than i can.  Cause frankly I am tired…..lol.

Here’s the list of moves in this workout

Jump Squat  30 secs.
Run-stance Squat 30 secs
Airborne Heisman 30 secs
Swing Kick 60 secs

30 sec Break then repeat previous

Squat Reach Jump 30 secs
Run-stance Squat 30 secs
Double Airborne Heisman 30 secs
Circle Run 60 secs

30 sec Break then repeat previous

Jump Knee Tuck 30 secs
Mary Katherine Lunge 30 secs
Leapfrog Squat 30 secs
Twist Combo 60 secs

30 sec Break then repeat previous

Rock Star Hop 30 secs
Gap Jump 30 secs
Squat Jacks 30 secs
Military March 30 secs

30 sec Break then repeat previous

Run Squat 180 Jump Sequence 30 secs
Lateral Leapfrog Squat 30 secs
Monster Truck Tire 30 secs
Hot Foot 60 secs

30 sec Break then repeat previous

BONUS ROUND
Pitch & Catch 60 secs
Jump Shot 60 secs
Football Hero 60 secs

I had to modify some moves because of the low ceiling, but all in all I made it through this workout mostly intact.  I have wonky knees, wonky back , etc etc but I was able to do most of the moves without discomfort, well without pain, discomfort there was plenty.  I was left sucking wind on many occasions and had to stop at 23 sec or 21 sec a couple times and catch my breath.

I have had plenty of people ask me about doing p90x the last couple days, what I did to get ready for it (Power 90) where should they start, I recommend to everyone not in good shape to start with p90 see if they like it, and add disclaimer I don’t feel I am now in “good shape” but rather 65 days of Power 90 makes me feel confident enough to try this workout.  We’ll see how I do!

Oh, also, this morning, at first weigh in I was 205 on my scale in boxers, the lowest I have seen in probably 8 years.  WOOO!
