So, I am one month in to this little journey. My 1400th odd trip down this road to getting healthy, or physical transformation, or whatever you want to call it. I have people noticing some changes, I am posting daily on this here blog (whether or feel like it or not) and I am doing a little something every day to get better, healthier, and fitter.
When you embark on these journey’s, or at least when I do, you have to be careful not to burn out, or do too much at once. I have been kicking around the idea of starting a couch to 5 k program, I have the power 90 going (which by the way I am loving) I am doing weight watchers etc etc. I am recently coming off some health scares, so while I have been cleared (actually I was encouraged, lol) to start regular exercise I still have to watch it, and add a little at a time so not to injure myself, or not get out to an un-sustainable pace that you give up when the honeymoon stage wears off.
I like to think I am being smart about things, short walks every day, sometimes up to 3 of em a day, Power 90 6 days a week, and better food choices. Nothing to extravagant or crazy. And its working. Yes I may not be dropping Biggest Loser-ish 5-10 lbs a week, but I am making progress, and I feel a tonne better than I did one month ago.
For years I have been fighting some chronic back/neck pains, with the occasional racket with my wrists, knees and shoulders. Basically I have been walking around like a 90 year old man with a beatup old body and an attitude to match. I am working hardest probably on my attitude, and being more positive about things. I know that in the grand scheme of things, I have it pretty good. I caught this health shit in time. I have a wonderful family and extended family. I have many very good friends, that would do whatever they could to help me if I needed it, (or let them). Walking around like there is a dark cloud over my head serves no purpose, and I am working hard every single day on changing that. Its just another part of the journey.
This morning I went for a nearly two hour walk on a local nature trail. It’s a beautiful day, and I am going to go enjoy it. I will be back later today. Still got my Power 90 workout to get in.
