Monday morning thoughts
Posted by swljuggernaut on June 4, 2007
So after a long weekend, of camping, hiking, and lots of exercise I decided to go to bed early last night and missed most of the Yanks-Sox game. I went to bed just before the Sox big inning, thus also missing Arod’s go ahead/game winning HR in the 9th. He continues his 9th inning heroics and hammered his 20th of the year.
Tonight is game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals, and it’s a very big game, as there is a humongous difference between 3-1 and 2-2. Hopefully they can pull out the victory and make it a best of three. Pronger is suspended for a headshot on Mcammond, his second suspension of the playoffs for a high hit, and this gives Ottawa a great shot to even things up.
For the first time in ages I am interested in seeing the NBA finals. I used to be a huge NBA fan, but for one reason or another I didn’t watch much basketball at all this past season. I luckily fluked into seeing the end of the 4th and two overtimes, of Lebron’s monster game, and flicked in between the hockey and basketball game on Saturday night. I will be watching to see if Lebron can win his first title (cause I mean really, Cleveland is Lebron and a bunch of supporting cast) or if Duncan and company gets their 4th.

Playoffs

Well, the Yankees have lost two in a row in Boston, despite Arod’s best efforts on Friday night. Another monster night for him, but Rivera got creamed. So in some parts they are asking for his head, and saying that he is finally losing his grip. I am not so quick to jump to that conclusion, but I will say this, in the past few years Bos owns him. We shall see.
The NHL first rounds of the playoffs are winding down and the NBA payoffs are just starting. I didn’t get a chance to see much basketball yesterday but I would like to try and get some of the Lakers game in today. Marquee matchup for sure, Kobe vs Nash and co. Steve Nash just had the best year of his career, coming off back to back MVP’s, but the word is he may not win the MVP again, this time it going to big Dirk in Dallas. I think that would be a shame, cause if you take away Nash from his team, their wins go down by 15 likely. Dirk not so much. Oh well. Lakers are in tough, and I don’t think they have much of a chance.
Hockey wise my Rangers are looking good, but they are also in tough against Ott next round. Ottawa usually stinks it up in the playoffs, but maybe finally this is their year. I hope Jagr is prepared this year to give it his full effort. Maybe they could hypnotise him and make him think he has on his country jersey, and we’ll get 100 percent out of him? yeah i doubt it to. Anyway Rangers in 6 is my hope.
