Yeeeesh

Once again, long time no blog? Not any particular reason why just out of habit. Not a whole lot going on in my end of the universe really. Just more of the same as usual.

Overall I had been feeling pretty well these last few weeks, until headaches started again last Thursday. I have had a pretty constant headache for over a week again, and yes it grows very frustrating. I try my best to keep my “issues” in proper perspective. I know there are people who would give an arm and a leg to have my “problems” but it doesn’t make it any easier when you are constantly battling sore muscles and/or headaches. (/rant)

We are leaving within the next couple weeks for our first visit to Florida. The kids are over the moon excited and are looking forward to it immensely. My parents are going with us, and I think it will be a lot of fun overall really. I am going to do whatever I can to make sure the kids really have a great time and have memories that will really last. I of course will be taking 100’s of pictures I am sure, and I am really looking forward to the trip.

Last year I threw a bachelor party for one of my oldest and best friends, and managed to get together a pretty good sized group of people for it. I am going to try and make it a yearly thing (the getting together) and I am going to start planning this years very shortly. A good friend of mine is coming home this summer from out of town and I hope to get it done while he is home. I need to find out when he’s coming and start planning accordingly. My hope is a golf day for the boys in the morning, and a barbeque at night for the everyone, including kids, wives and family.

All I got for now, I will try to get back to regular posting.

I am a Washer Toss master!

 

Yesterday I went with my family over to a buddies house for a bbque, a few beer, and some Washer Toss. 

Here is a picture of Josh on the grill, and my wife Nat getting some food for the kids.  Josh and Mel provided the hotdogs and hamburgers, and Josh was a great and gracious cook.

 

 

One of the things I have in common with my friends is I (we) are very competitive.  It doesn’t  matter the field of battle, poker, sports, board games or whatever, with a few dollars on the line or just for bragging rights.

The games were close, and good naturedly competitive.  I was having a few beer and was getting louder with each win, much to my wifes chagrin.  She’s not a fan of the loud guy I can be when competing with my friends.

 

Here I am mid throw, with James in behind me.  I ended up throwing one winning throw with my eyes closed.  Wooooo. 

 

 

 

All in all it was a fun day, some good laughs and a little friendly competition with my friends.

Friday…..so glad

Finally Friday.  Had a short work week this week, cause I was off for a few days with my back/neck/migraine issues earlier this week.  Just realized as I was typing this that my head is not absolutely pounding this morning for the first time in like 10 days!  Wooo!  Just get through the day and I will be able to rest up on the weekend.

My kids are coming home today after spending the week at my in laws.  Will be glad to have them home, although my oldest leaves again Sunday for a week for camp.  She went last year and really enjoyed it, but asked to go to a girls only camp this year.  She is looking forward to it, and I am sure she will have alot of fun.  Summer is FLYING by and its almost August.  It’s back to school for them soon.

Last night my wife and I went to the bookstore and then did a pop in on friends of ours.  They have an infant baby, and I hadn’t been over to see the baby yet, but had been meaning to.  He wasn’t up when I was there but it was a nice visit anyway.  I have lost contact with a lot of my friends over the years, and I am going to do what I can to see them more, even if its a once a month short unanounced visit like last night.

Lazy weekend, getting ready for some football

Not a lot going on today, just getting ready to watch some football. I went out for some Poker and Wii bowling last night with the boys and had a great time and lots of laughs as usual. I am incredibly lucky to have such a great group of friends.

I return to work this coming week, and its about frigging time. I have been so bored sitting at home it will be nice to get back in the groove, and learn my new position. I have done the same job with another company, and quite honestly didn’t like it, but I am going to give it a chance and make the best of it. After all, it pays the bills.

We are in the process of getting the basement ready to have it finished, and yesterday I carried nearly a dozen rolls of rolled up carpet upstairs and outside, along with a bunch of exercise equipment we donated to a troubled youth home. So I was feeling pretty banged up yesterday. A night out with the boys was just the remedy for that though, and even though I fell asleep at 4 this morning on my living room floor, I am not as sore today as I was yesterday.

Well off to watch some football pregame.

A night out with the boys

Went out last night with some old friends. The guys I grew up with used to be a tight group. I still hang around with (though not as much as I’d like) many of the guys that I hung out with since I was in elementary school. I do not see them as much as I would like, but its nice to see the guys that are out of town when ever possible.

So with all that said last night we got together for a few beer and to toss around some cards in a micro limit poker game. Beer was drank, pizza was eaten, and some fun was had. A couple of the guys hadn’t seen each other in 5 years. There was a silly argument at the very end between myself and my oldest friend, but as petty, silly arguments always are it was swept under the rug quickly.

Will be back with a few pics in a bit.
