Been a tough couple days

It has been a tough couple days, of hearing some troubling news, of missing a workout, and not getting enough sleep. But it is what it is

As far as today’s exercise, was a good day. Cardio day and I got lots in. Got 13 km in on my bicycle, and got 12023 steps on the pedometer. Food was on point, and I have been working alot the last few days on visualization and focusing on my goals and where I want to go. I will have a post soon on some of that side of my transformation (the internal side).

Tuesday

Ok, I am roughly a week back into the fitness arena. The first week has been an improvement over how I have been living, but by no means perfect.

The Good: I am down 6 pounds and 2 inches from my waist! (YAY!!)

The Bad: I still ate off plan, and I drank on two occasions (something I have not done in years in the same week)

Keeping a fitness blog for me is about accountability. Even if I am only being accountable to myself. I don’t care if a single person is reading this. So why don’t I keep a private journal? Well, not sure, lol. Being accountable only works though if I write the good and the bad. So going forward, I hope to update a few times a week with how I am doing. I doubt very much I will post everyday, but I do need to update several times a week, just to keep myself honest.

I just got back from the gym, and had a great workout. I am training one bodypart a day with weights, and doing cardio everyday as well. Back workout and 20 min on the treadmill was 42 min total. Works for me. I have spent much of the past 3 weeks on vacation or off. This week is my first full week back so I am getting back to reality. For the next 7 weeks I am working 11:00 am til 7:30 pm, so the plan is workouts in the am at the gym, a little wii at night. Simple enough.

Today’s weights:

fixed pulldown 4 sets 12 reps
hammer pdown 3 sets 10,10,8
cable row 3 sets 10,10,10
hyperext 10,10,9(last set holding 5 lbs weight)

treadmill 20 min fast walking 3.8-4 mph 140 cal, 1.25 distance

off for a quick bite to eat and then to work. Make it a great week!

Still alive

Well I haven’t posted much here of late, but I will try and go back to posting regularly starting today.  This blog is titled Fitness day by day, but I guess it should really be called "Health and Fitness" because you should strive to have both.

 

I have been doing what I can to not be sitting at a computer alot, (or sitting anywhere for long periods quite frankly) so I have been doing a lot of reading.  I have started physio and will be going twice this week and twice next week, and we’ll take it a week at a time after that.   He along with doctors etc have stressed, and I know myself, the key for me is movement!  I have to do the things I can do as much as possible even if its just walking, so thats what I will be doing.

 

I have a pretty good trail system here in my home town which I love to use, but now its time to use it even more extensively.  Sitting on my ass and not doing stuff got me to where I am today.  Moving will get me back to where I wanna be.  As soon as I can I am going to get back to the three days a week weight lifting, of course avoiding anything that hurts (which in the gym I have gotten much better about and less stubborn) and daily cardio, as advised by the physiotherapist, even if its little walks broken up is in order.  I am not giving up, and I am not going to live in pain the rest of my life.   No way.

 

With that said, I am off for a walk!

quick Tuesday post

So, my posts have been short the last few days, but it reflects my time……short. I am exhausted and I am going to bed early (9:30 pm). Today was cardio and i got it in on an exercise bike, as well as walking 4 km to work this am.

Eats remain on track, but I don’t have much of an appetite. Got to work on that. My water intake has been up and down, I got to get that going as well. Always look to improve, never stand still. UBWO tommorrow.

Cardio done

Tonight I went to the gym and did cardio and abs. It was a quick but efficient workout. I pushed myself on the treadmill and recumbant bike. I went to the local gnc and also picked up some glutamine and a portable mixer.

Tommorrow morning I have my last physio apointment before I go back to work on Monday. I am happy to finally be getting back to work and get into a regular schedule. So tired of sitting at home.

Once I am back to work though the one thing I am going to have to do is plan my meals better and probably have to do a big cook on Sunday’s to make a pile of meals for the week.
