Picked up some new books

Forgot to mention in my earlier post that I went to the second hand book store after my Tuesday physio appointment and picked up 7 James Patterson Novels! I had read Along came a Spider and Kiss the Girls years ago, and See how they Run this past summer, and really enjoy his writing. So to get some time off the computer I picked up seven books and I started reading one of em already, Jack and Jill. When I get further into the book I will talk more about it.

I just really got back into reading fiction in a big way this past year. I read 6 Kathy Reichs books last winter after getting hooked on the show Bones, which are loosely based on her life, and I also read Deception Point and Digital Fortress both by Davinci writer Dan Brown. I am eagerly anticipating The Solomon Key coming out hopefully next year, but its been pushed back I dunno how many times so who knows.

I also either read or listened to the audio’s of all 4 Bourne books by Ludlum. The books could not have been further away from the movies, but I enjoyed all the movies and the books equally on their own.

That being said, I should get off here and go read!

Picked up some new books

Finished Identity, moving on

Well I have been at work for nearly an hour on Saturday morning. Having only gone to sleep about 5 and a half hours ago, am a little sleepy but a coffee is perking me up a little. I stayed up late finishing the book Bourne Identity, having to read ahead after spending most of the week listening to the book on tape at work. When I got here this am I started in on the Bourne Supremcy.

I really enjoyed the first book. The book on tape is simply a word for word reading of the novel, and I can whip thru reading it a lot faster than listening, but as a buddy of mine said yesterday I can’t read it while working. I am not sure if I will make a habit of listening to books on tape or not because I really like reading, but we shall see. I have a dvd here with 7 books, so we shall see.

I am not sure how long I plan to work today. I am going to work as much ot as I can make myself until I move to my new position because once I do move overtime will likely not be available, so I’ll “make hay while the sun shines”. It’s a horrible day weather wise anyway, cold and pouring rain. We actually had 5 cm of snow a few days ago, but it was quickly washed away.

I had hoped, if the weather was good, to get to a driving range this weekend. Since its supposed to rain all weekend, I will not get there. I am probably going to work right thru the weekend, but we shall see. There will be lots of time to golf this summer hopefully.

Weekends nearly here, just winding down the last few hours of my Friday shift at work. I am going to be working some overtime this weekend by choice, trying to get caught up with my work load. Not a whole lot new in my little end of the world. Haven’t played much cards of late, haven’t done a whole lot truth be told.

Have been listening to an Audio book at work “The Bourne Identity”. I did not think that I would like listening to an audio book but I have enjoyed it. For some reason I have had a hard time getting thru the actual novel, as I have tried to get thru the first one a few times. It is vastly different from the movie, really only sharing the name and principle character. I am about 2 thirds of the way thru right now, and it is really picking up the pace. My buddy told me the second book is even better, and I am looking forward to getting to it, but I may read it instead of listening, as I can read much faster, haha. Can’t wait for the third movie.

Speaking of movies, I have yet to see Spiderman, and I am really looking forward to the new Die Hard, above any of the other blockbusters on the way. I think its going to be a great movie summer, one loaded with Sequels. Shrek 3 starts tonight, and I am sure I will be taking the kids to see that one, I may try and go Sunday afternoon.
