Stayrod?

Posted by swljuggernaut on November 15, 2007

So just a short note to mention the biggest rumor in MLB. Looks like Arod has come crawling back and looking to make a deal. I think this is a great move, and a great start to fixing his rep and his status with his fans. I was a huge critic when he walked away from the Yanks. By the same token, if I had to chose between having the best player in MLB playing for the Yanks or against the Yanks, I would want him with the Yanks. Hopefully the deal can be made. I also hope that Boras stays out of it, cause that man, altho the “best” at what he does, just may be, as I have often said, the devil.

Posada is back, Sandman is on his way, and now Arod. If these two pieces fall in place, fixing the pitching staff is next on the list.

The whole Arod thing bugs me, as if you couldn’t tell by me blogging about it three days in a row. We now have a huge whole in the infield and we are losing a 310 50 140 guy. But you know what, I am fine with them sticking to their guns and not resigning him. I am hoping that they are able to make some moves. I would like to see Posada back. Rivera, I would like back but I don’t see it. I wish they would unload Giambi and Damon, but I don’t see them dumping them all.

I like the way Cashman has been going over the last year and a half or so. I like the rebuilding of the prospects and the farm. I am not like some Yankee fans, and I would take a year or two of mediocrity if it meant getting younger. I know that the Yankees being the Yankees will always be in the conversations of the big free agents, but I like Cashman’s stated vision for the team.

I did manage to stay undefeated in my football pool, and in my two main hockey pools I am mid pack. I am hoping to make a deal or two to sure up the team in the league allowing trades. I meant to go pick up forsberg a couple days and when i went to grab him off the wire he was gone. I can see him coming back and playing in Ottawa, somewhere where the pressure is off him, and he doesn’t have to be a savoir.

NBA started last night. I grew up a huge fan but the last year or two I did not watch the reg season as much. I am going to try and get more viewing in this year. I have always been a Laker fan going back to showtime, but also cheered for the Bulls as Jordan is my favorite athlete ever in every sport. Kobe is a distraction, and the smart money is on him not being traded, unless its for another tier 1 star, ie Iverson, Carter, TMAC, etc, and I just don’t see it happening. I like the player, but the whiny person can be anoying.

Scott Boras is Lucifer

Posted by swljuggernaut on October 30, 2007

….and Rodriguez is his right hand man.

I posted yesterday morning about Arod opting out of his contract before knowing that Boras released the news during Game 4 of the WS. I did not know this, cause quite frankly I am a bitter Yankee fan and I have no intention of watching the Red Sox win the WS.

Anyway, I am soooooo pissed about the Arod thing. I have always been a fan of his. Just like I have always been a fan of Bonds. Bonds gets a bad rap because he’s an ass. But you know what? At least he’s honest about who and what he is. Arod is worse, cause he works hard to put on airs that he is not an ass, and is not a selfish player but, how much more selfish can you be that upstaging the WS? Maybe Boras is behind this who knows. But good riddance. Enjoy, the Dodgers, Giants, Angels, Boston or wherever you end up.

Here’s a few posts about the while mess:

Should be undefeated in Fantasy pool, Arod opts out…..and oh yeah……

Posted by swljuggernaut on October 29, 2007

The Redsox won again! bah.

I am ahead in my pool with my buddy having one WR left to play tonight and he will have to have a 3 td night tonight to overtake me. 8-0 baby.

Freaking Arod opted out. Claiming to be unsure of Rivera, Posada and Pettite’s status he opted out freeing him to become part owner of the Cubs or whatever the hell they offered. I am not happy at all, but I am not surprised either. How the hell you could walk away from that money is beyond me, but I guess when you are walking away from 80, but walking to 300 million, would make the move easier. Ridiculous. If Lowell leaves the Sox, could he end up there? Yuck. Oh, and it looks like Girardi is going to be the new manager and not Donnie Baseball. Double yuck.

So the Pats destroyed another team yesterday. Leaving Brady in ahead by 38, and going for it on 4th down while ahead by 40 plus. Nice. Should be an interesting game next week.

Football, Redsox, Arod and lazy Sunday

Posted by swljuggernaut on October 28, 2007

Well the Redsox are one win away from another WS. All I can think about is 5 and a half months til pitchers and catchers. The Redsox are playing perfect ball it seems right now and I don’t see much hope in them not sweeping. Bah.

Rumors yesterday were the Yanks were about to offer a 30 per 5 year contract extension to Arod. I want them to keep him. I have always been a fan of Arod going back to Seattle, but 30 per. Jeesh. It will be interesting to see what happens, if Boras lets him sign there without testing the free market. I truly think that man is Lucifer.

Also in Yankee news, it is also rumored we may have a new manager by Monday or Tuesday if Selig lets them announce it. I personally am hoping for my favorite yankee, Donnie Baseball but the other two frontrunners, Pena and Gerardi are both former manager of the year. So we’ll see. Pressure on Mattingly would be intense I would think.

It’s Sunday so that means football, and in many people’s case, fantasy football. I have been in pools going back to highschool, but this is my second forray into the football pools. I have a little too much Gamboool in me so I have always watched myself with the sports betting but I have to admit I am really enjoying the fantasy sports pools and it sure does add a little something to the season.

In my main pool I am 7-0 going into today’s action, but in a stroke of bad luck I have 3 of my 4 rb’s sitting this week. Soooo gonna need a big week from my other positions to keep the streak alive. Am going against one of my best friends today, losing to him would truly stink.lol

Sports Overload!!

Posted by swljuggernaut on September 9, 2007

Well I am on Sports Overload right now! First full day of NFL, watching the BMW Golf Championships, watching the Yankees scores on the internet, and yesterday watched Michigan just get destroyed (losing their QB Henne in the process).

Alex Rodriguez is just on a ridiculous run over the last week. He just missed by feet a second two homerun INNING in a couple days, and just today as I write this he just hit a HR a few moments ago in the 1st inning.

I got the NFL football package and I am skipping around watching like 5 games at once right now checking in on my fantasy teams and players. I just love football season and I am looking forward to having access to ALL the games this year.

Michigan……blah. Not a lot to say, they got destroyed again. Going from 5th ranked, having 3 of the main guys stay back to have a shot at winning a championship and then having this start, losing both games at home…..bah. They have lost 4 straight, and the QB left hurt, and Hart the main back was hobbled as well. Just not good times for Michigan.

Well, back to the games, halftimes are over. Will be back.
